Most dentists, doctors and veterinarians purchase some or most of their equipment from the company Henry Schein. One of the best features of the company is that they have reps that will come to your office once a month and sit down with you and go over what you need and let you know about new products that may be of help. We are so blessed that our rep, Jim Kondrad, is the best rep, probably in the whole world, but for sure in the continental US. =) Jim was the rep where I first started working as an associate dentist back in the 1990s, so we go way back.
So Jim came to mind right away when thinking of where to find a dental 3D scanner. He responded to my emailed queries the same day and copied the email threads to Tony Reeder, the 3D scanning expert.
Tony also got back to me the same day and said that yes, he did want to be involved in the project and could get us the equipment to try it. He did warn me on the very first email that, "The only challenge I could foresee is the file size...."
Since we would not be working with SUE herself, but with the research casts and since we were not sure the 3D scanning would even work, Ken Cohrn decided not to fly up but would wait to see how things went.
So Bill Simpson, Tony Reeder and I coordinated a day that would work with all of our schedules. We agreed on Friday, March 25th.
